6 ways to attract fairies into your home or garden

If you love nature and are interested in bringing more of that element into your yard and home, you’re going to love having a fairy sanctuary. A fairy sanctuary can be very small and can be outside or inside. Luckily, fairies don’t need much space and are more amenable to living indoors than you would think.

1) Cottages

The popularity of tiny homes has inspired the idea for our fairy cottages with emphasis on adorable. Buying or making a fairy home is a great way to attract fairies into your home or yard. Convert a simple bird house into a whimsical fairy cottage or make several and create a whole fairy neighborhood. Many craft stores sell wooden bird houses for less than $10. With a little paint and some imagination, you can create a precious abode that any fairy would love to come home too.

2) Plants

Fairies love plants and are great little gardeners inside and outside of the home. If you’re limited to indoor plants or the climate in your area limits your outdoor time, consider making a fairy sanctuary out of naturally found items like; bark, acorns, gourds, pods, moss and sticks. We have a version of this that is made on a bamboo stake. I call these little wonders, fairy condos. You’ll love how they look in your potted plants.

3) Shelves

Decorative shelves can make a great fairy playground or place to relax on a bench or swing. Use your imagination to decorate the back with natural found items. If you’re feeling really creative; take the challenge and make a tiny swing or bench.

4)Terrarium

Terrariums are great for succulents and other tiny plants. Cover the bottom with moss, add your plant and something interesting, like a lamp or chair made out of found natural objects. Entice fairies to take a few minutes to rest and relax.

5) Birdcages

An ornamental birdcage can make a beautiful fairy ballroom. Decorate with fairy lights, a moss floor and a chandelier made from costume jewelry and let the fairy party begin.

6) Dollhouses

For those with grander fairy ideas, consider a dollhouse converted into a fairy mansion. Paint and decorate the outside to resemble a fairy cottage complete with a mossy roof and ivy. Inside use scrapbooking paper to paper the rooms and add cork flooring and handmade fairy furniture. Your fairies would be over the top thrilled.

These are just a few of the many ways to attract fairies. They love beautiful things, bright colors, and of course anything from nature.
